From the writings of John the Baptist the importance of telling the truth becomes an important issue. Truth is what is important, not because it is going to make someone save their soul, although that is what it does do, but because by telling the truth in love, we can build them up in God. “And when he put forth his hand, he touched the disciples’ eyes and they received holding of his hands” (Mark 10:46).
The disciples were miraculous in their ministry. They healed the sick, cast out devils and so forth. There was no way the Apostles were going to be able to do that the same way. If they would have been miracle workers, they would have been called Doctors of the Church and they would have been miracle workers in the same way that we are called DoulDNA (Douglas nucleus). It is not even a question of whether or not the gift of miracles still exists in God, it is just a question of who has it and thus gaining that knowledge, according to the understanding that we give it.
One of the greatest messages that unites us as a people is the subject of the mystery of tongues. Let me first start by stating that the gift of tongues really does not contradict the truth of the Gospel. While I am not certain about all the interpretations that abound, I believe that God gave the gift of tongues to all people to use in conjunction with our minds, to share in loving Christ. I also believe that it just a plain stretch of the imagination to say that all tongues are not knowing tongues. I know a lot of people back off on this one and think I am out there saying this, but I am not. Don’t let anyone tell you any different. I am just being the witness that I have been given.
I believe that people hear different words, when we say the same prayer we mean exactly the same thing. I know that when I pray the same words that God hears what I am saying and smiles. I also know that when I look someone in the eye and barely keep my eyes from moving to their face because we are just so alike, I know they do feel the presence of God in my countenance.
The other day, a person said to my wife, “just because she is in the house of God, doesn’t mean she is going to be having the same experience that I am.” She had the other week put some new verses from the book of Acts up on our kitchen table. Every time she looks at them, she says to herself, “I am blessed to be in the presence of the Lord.” She is not saying I am blessed because of God, but in the present time she is in the presence of the Lord and therefore says to herself, “God is blessing me.”
People even smile at you when you go to the ends of the earth and say my brothers and sisters and God is blessing me, and it is true. I have the blessing of the Lord strolling with me, blessing me, and giving me the desires of my heart, and no earthly possession is required to accomplish that fellowship with the Lord.
Well, just because you have no tangible tangible possession does not mean you have nothing, that you are a nobody, and that you are a nobody and a nobody all at the same time. You have the gift of God, the ability to speak and live and do mighty things in the NAME OF Jesus.
Let me encourage you, if you have never turned your life over to the Lord Jesus Christ, pick up your Bible and begin to lay it on the altar in your own presence. Begin to seek God’s face so that your life can be turned over to Him for cleansing, healing and deliverance. Then, as you open your heart to the King of Kings, Jesus Himself will baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and the results of your seeking will be evident for you in this life…
Acts 8:18 says “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
What a wonderful promise that He is offering you.
He said, “Ye shall be witnesses unto me.” That means you are going to be revealing something of the New Testament Christ to anyone who comes into your life.
No matter where you are, you have the ability to receive revelation from the Lord today. The old has past and all that is new is come, and the old has passed away. This means that the new is here today and the old has passed away. This is why the Ascended Masters are flooding the Earth right now, they are shining the light so that the world can see that the New has arrived and it is different than the Old.
